Summer was fun
I don't think I have ever heard anyone say they had fun on a diet.
Amy and I are both still feeling positive about our diet, despite not reaching our desired weight loss goals over the summer. However, we believe that our overall well-being is what truly matters. We had a wonderful time engaging in outdoor activities and indulging in some delicious high-calorie treats, such as grilling and enjoying a glass of wine, beer, or even a Margarita occasionally. Despite these indulgences, we were still able to lose some weight. Overall, we are satisfied with our progress, and the most important thing is that we both feel fantastic.
Big Birthday!!!!!! And I'm not going to diet!
One important lesson we learned this summer is the importance of keeping a record of what we eat. Despite this, we did celebrate my birthday in August, which I believe is acceptable. It's natural to let loose on your birthday, especially when reaching a significant milestone. It's hard to believe how quickly time has passed. However, the good news is that I feel better now than I did in my thirties. Losing weight has had a remarkable impact on my well-being, and it's true that every five pounds lost can make you feel better. Since January, I've lost 48.2 pounds, and I'm amazed at how fantastic I feel.
Lost more weight than a bag of dog food
We've got four big dogs with varying dietary requirements, including one senior pup and another on a weight-loss regimen. Roscoe is on adult and weight loss, Elvis is on whatever he will eat (such a picky eater), and Kevin and Teddy are on a mix of weight management and regular food. As we were unpacking groceries, we realized that the bag of dog food only weighed 34 pounds - that's less than the 48.2 pounds we managed to shed. It’s a heavy bad. We couldn't believe how it felt to pick this up. After all, I have lost 48.2 pounds. That is 14 pounds more than the bag of dog food!!!!!!!
Moving around with the extra weight
I now know why I felt so bad just walking around places like Target. I can't believe I carried all that extra weight. Oh, I still have 52 pounds to lose! No wonder my knees hurt so much. Well, no more; this weight is gone, and I'm going to make the next 10 years fun, fun, fun!!!
We are holding a 34-pound bag and a 12-pound bag of dog food. This is less than what I used to carry on my body. I couldn't even carry them into the house. Amy had to help me. Amy has lost 54 pounds since January. We could not believe how it felt to hold these bags of dog food. If you have lost weight, even if it is only 5 or 10 pounds, pick up something that weighs that amount and walk around carrying that weight and see how different you feel. It will inspire you to lose more weight. . .it's very cool and rewarding.
100 pounds down!!! 100 to go!
We're confident that with a positive attitude and some effort, shedding some pounds is definitely doable after this summer. It isn't easy, but at the same time, it isn't hard to lose weight. We both believe you can do anything you put your mind to and, at the same time, have fun.
From May to September, Amy and I lost a combined 30 pounds. Since January, we've lost a total of 102.2 pounds while eating the same things (sometimes Amy eats more). We hold each other accountable and have fun doing it.
