We love dips for parties or just while binge-watching Netflix. So we are always trying to figure out ways to make a fun dip while cutting calories. This Cheesy Chicken Taco Dip might be one of my favorites!
We use homemade Taco Season mix for this recipe. Or what ever your favorite Packaged Taco season mix will also work. We like to make up a large amount of the taco seasoning mix and store it in a air tight container. It has great flavor and you know what is in the mix. Below is the recipe for the season mix.
Lower in Calories
This Cheesy Chicken Taco Dip recipe has a total of 1,392 calories or about 139 calories per serving compared to the taco recipes using ground beef which has approximately 3,018 calories or 301 calories per serving. So by doing the few cuts in the recipe we kept or have more flavor and saved a bunch of calories!!!
TIPS:
- Use Ground 99% fat-free Ground Chicken or Ground Turkey
- If possible, use a meat grinder and grind your own Chicken Breast or Turkey Chicken. It's Cheaper and does taste better. Plus, you know how much fat is in the meat.
- Use Whipped Cream Cheese

Cheesy Chicken Taco Dip
Ingredients
Cook Chicken
- 1 pound Ground Chicken Breast Or Ground Turkey
- 2 Tablespoons Taco Seasoning mix or one package of taco mix
- 1 Cup Water
Casserole
- ½ Cup Whipped Cream Cheese
- 4 Ounces Cheddar Cheese
- ½ cup Cilantro Optional
- 3 green onions Optional
Instructions
Cook Chicken
- Preheat oven to 375 degreesPlace Chicken in Saute Pan and Cook on Medium High Heat
- Add Taco Seasoning mix
- When Chicken is cooked about 5 minutes Add one cup of water. Simmer until the Chicken is done
Build Casserole
- Mix together Chicken, Cream Cheese, and Cheddar Cheese
- Pour into Casserole Dish (@8x8 dish)
- Place in oven and bake for 25 minutes or until bubbles
- Sprinkle cilantro and green onions on top. This is optional
- Enjoy! Serve with tortilla chips or veggies
