One Pan Turkey or hamburger helper recipe
We should totally call this dish "Turkey Helper" instead of "Hamburger Helper" because we used turkey instead of hamburger. It's a sneaky way to cut some calories, and no one will even realize it's not hamburger! But you could totally use hamburger or chicken instead of turkey if you prefer. I always say, use whatever you have in the pantry or fridge. You could even use cauliflower if you want to make it a vegetarian meal!
Homemade Cheesy Turkey Pasta (Turkey Helper) One Pan Dinner!!!!
This recipe is super easy and quick to make, and using turkey instead of beef cuts down on the calories without sacrificing that delicious taco flavor. You can have this dish ready in just 20 minutes from start to finish! We used turkey breast, but ground turkey or beef works just as well and is even faster because there's no chopping involved. Just cook the meat, add the taco seasoning, green chilies, salsa, and water when it's starting to brown, and bring it all to a boil.
When the water starts boiling, add the dry pasta and give it a good stir. Then, lower the heat so the water is simmering gently. Cover the pot and cook the pasta for the time indicated on the package. For our pasta, it took about 8 minutes.
When the pasta is ready and the liquid has reduced by about half, turn off the heat. Then, gently stir in the cream cheese and cheddar cheese. Finally, add some chopped cilantro or parsley for extra flavor.
Add some jalapenos if you like it spicy! Serve and savor this delicious Cheesy Turkey Taco Pasta!!!!!
We love using homemade taco seasoning for a few reasons, but the main one is that it's bursting with flavor! It's a staple in our pantry!! Here is our homemade taco Seasoning.
