These Homemade Bagels are incredibly easy to make, and the best part is that you can customize them to your liking! Rather than settling for half a bagel to cut down on calories. But let's be real, who wants half when you can have the whole thing? So we make smaller versions that are satisfying yet still fit within our dietary goals. And they are just as delicious as the large ones. Now you can relish in a whole bagel without any of the guilt! You can also make larger ones if you're feeling indulgent - it's totally up to you!

Enjoy with your favorite toppings!!!
One of the great things about making your own bagels is that you can add whatever toppings you want. Some days, we crave everything bagels, while other days we opt for sesame. Our favorite summertime bagel involves cream cheese, cherry tomatoes, and some spicy peppers for a kick. Adding bacon takes it to the next level and makes for a delicious breakfast treat.
How do you make homemade bagels??
Making homemade bagels is both easy and rewarding. Personally, it brings me a lot of happiness. It's also a cost-effective option compared to buying them from a local shop. I believe everyone is always looking for ways to save money, and this is a great way to do it. Additionally, you don't have to drive to the store, which is a huge plus for me. The local shop is 20 minutes away, so I rarely go there.
Moreover, the size of the bagels can be adjusted to suit one's appetite, and everyone in the household can enjoy a different topping. To create delicious bagels, one needs only five ingredients: yeast, sugar, flour, salt, and their favorite topping, plus water. Simply mix them together, let the dough rise, form them into the desired shape and size, sprinkle on the topping, boil them, and then bake them in the oven for a few minutes. Voila! Fresh and hot bagels are ready for breakfast or brunch.

Easy Homemade Bagels
Ingredients
- 1 Package Instant Yeast
- 2 teaspoons Salt
- 3 ½ Cups Bread Flour
- 4 teaspoons Sugar
- 1 ¼ Cups Water
Instructions
- Begin by placing flour and salt in a mixing bowl and stirring them together. Then, set this mixture aside.
- In a separate bowl, combine the sugar and water and stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Next, add the yeast and sugar water mixture to the flour mixture and mix everything together using a dough hook attachment on a mixer. Alternatively, you can mix everything by hand on a countertop, but using a mixer makes the process much easier.
- As the dough starts to come together and form a ball, sprinkle 2-3 tablespoons of flour in the bowl and continue to let the dough hook stir on the lowest setting. If the dough is sticky, add a little more flour, one tablespoon at a time. Knead the dough on the lowest setting for 6 to 7 minutes until it becomes firm and elastic.
- Place the dough ball in a greased bowl and cover it with a damp towel. Let it rise for 1 hour.
- After the dough has risen, punch it down and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
- Cut the dough into portions.
- Form each portion into a ball and poke your finger through the center to form the bagel hole. Lightly stretch the dough around the hole until the hole is about an inch wide. Repeat this process with the rest of the dough to make all the bagels. Let them rest for 10 minutes.
- Lightly stretch the dough around the hole until the hole is about an inch wide. Set aside.
- Form the rest of the bagels. After all the bagels are formed, let them rest for 10 minutes.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Once the water is boiling, add the bagels, but don’t overcrowd the pot. Work in batches and let the bagels float. Boil the bagels for 1 minute, then flip them in the water and boil the other side for 1 minute.
- Remove the bagels from the boiling water and place them on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Immediately top the bagels with your favorite seasoning.
- Once all the bagels are boiled and topped, bake them at 425 degrees for 25 minutes.
- Finally, enjoy your freshly baked bagels with your favorite toppings!
