I really like a stir-fry dish; the hardest part is getting everything ready. The actual cooking part takes no more than 10 minutes. I remember trying it for the first time in high school, and I still remember being blown away by the spicy mustard. It was also my first encounter with spicy food other than pickled jalapenos. Boy, has my life changed!!!

Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry

Making a yummy Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry is a breeze and only takes 25 minutes. Unfortunately, delivery isn't an option, and we have to take a 20-minute drive to get our food fix. It can be a bit tricky sneaking out of the house with our 4 dogs can be challenging. Coming back in is even harder as they act like we’ve been gone for weeks.

Let me tell you our boys can play some mind games. I mean we can't say the word "GO" in our house. When we do, four heads pop up, and they start scrambling for the door. It is funny but. . . hard to leave them behind. So we have the time of loading them into the car, drive to the restaurant, and then drive home. It is a least an hour for some takeout. So we decided to start making our favorite takeout at home. We found that we can really cut the calories, and the food actually tastes better.

 Opting to make takeout at home is a wise choice as it not only saves time but also helps in maintaining a healthy diet. The Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry is a mouth-watering homemade option that not only meets but exceeded expectations. Its preparation is quick and hassle-free, making it an ideal choice for a delicious meal.

VERY IMPORTANT:

Make sure to start cooking the rice or noodles before beginning to prepare the Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry. It takes approximately 20 minutes for the rice to cook, so plan accordingly. This dish is easy to assemble and is sure to become a family favorite.

Ingredients

  • 12 Ounces Sirloin Steak
  • 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
  • 12 Ounces broccoli
  • 4 Green Onions Scallions
  • 1 Carrot
  • 2 Cloves Garlic
  • 2 Tablespoon Ginger
  • 2 Tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoon Sherry Or Chinese wine
  • ¾ Cups Beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper Optional

Instructions

Prep beef, veggies, and sauce

  • Thinly slice Sirloin Steak. Cut off any excess fat

  • Mix in Cornstarch to coat the steak completely. Set Aside

  • Slice Carrot into short thin strips

  • Slice Green Onions (Scallions)

  • Crush Garlic and slice ginger into very small pieces

  • Cut Broccoli into small florets and measure the beef broth.

  • Mix together soy sauce, dry sherry, and brown sugar to make the sauce.

Stir Fry

  • Heat the sesame oil in a frying pan or wok

  • Add the Beef to the frying pan. Cook for about 3 minutes or until the meat is done.

  • When making the steak mixture, don't worry about it sticking to the bottom of the pan. It will be fine once the sauce is added. Remove the steak from the pan.

  • Add the broccoli, carrots, spring onions, garlic, and ginger to the Pan

  • Combine beef broth and veggies. Add cayenne for spice. Cover and simmer for 3 minutes.

  • Uncover and cook, stirring until the broth has reduced completely

  • Add the sauce mixture and cooked steak. Stir constantly while cooking for 2-3 minutes.
