Copycat Chicken Sandwich
Ok, I have to say I love a Burger King Original Chicken Sandwich. When we are on road trips the BK Chicken Sandwich is what I'm gonna order. So darn good. But now we can make this yumminess at home in the air fryer. It's easy, and I actually think it tastes better than the BK chicken sandwich!!!!
So, if you like the BK Chicken Classic, try out this Crunchy Air Fryer Chicken Sandwich. You will not be disappointed. Another copycat sandwich we love to make is the McRib Sandwich.
How to make the Crunchy Air Fryer Chicken Sandwich
To bring extra flavor we added the French's Original Crispy Onions to this recipe. These are the onions we all use on our Thanksgiving green beans. They add such a nice flavor.
So here's how to make this fun recipe
First, like all recipes, get everything ready. Mix together the panko, cornflakes, crispy onions, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a small food processor.
In a bowl, beat the egg. Next, lightly coat the chicken with cornstarch. The corn starch is what helps give that crunch! Dip the chicken into the egg and then into the panko mixture.
Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. I use olive oil spray but any cooking spray will work. Well, I wouldn't use the coconut spray for this recipe! Lightly spray the chicken breast on each side and place it in the air fryer basket.
Air fry the chicken at 400 degrees for 8 minutes. Spray the chicken again, flip, and continue cooking for an additional 8 minutes. Check the chicken, if you want it crisper then air fry for an additional 5 minutes.
I like to heat the buns in the microwave for a few seconds to make the buns nice and soft. Shred the lettuce and spread a small layer of mayonnaise on each side of the bun. Place the chicken on the buns and place the lettuce on top of the chicken. Place the top of the bun on top. Enjoy!!!!
Enjoy!!!!
