Spice Mix for this crunch Air Fryer Fish and Chips
How To Bread Fish for the Air Fryer
- Sprinkle cornstarch on the fish. This helps the breading stick for maximum crunchy air fryer fish.
- We used frozen fresh cod. Defrost the fish and gently pat dry with a paper towel.
- Whisk the egg in a bowl.
- Mix together the corn flakes (yes, corn flakes! Don't worry, they aren't sweet) and seasonings in a food processor.
- Dunk the coated fish into the egg, letting any excess egg drip off.
- Sprinkle corn flake mixture over the fish. Roll it over and coat all sides of the fish.
Tips and Key Steps to Air Frying Fish
- Once the fish is breaded, spray the bottom of the air fryer basket with cooking spray – I use either butter spray or olive oil spray.
- Spray a little cooking spray on the top of each fish, and air fry for 8 minutes. Then, flip, spray, and cook for another 5 minutes.
- OPTIONAL: if you want it really crispy (YUM!!!), flip it again and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Ready to eat!!!
Serve with a homemade tartar sauce.
The Final step for crunchy fish and chips. . .Enjoy!!!!!
