We absolutely love Japanese beef curry in our house! This dish's bold flavors and spices create a mouth-watering experience that we can't get enough of. The best part? It's super easy to make and can be ready in just a few minutes. We lived in Japan for a couple of years, Amy's favorite school lunch was on every Tuesday when Japanese Curry was on the menu! Each week, they would serve different types of curry, ranging from beef, chicken, shrimp, or vegetarian. It was always a delicious surprise!

So when we found the S&B Golden curry mix, we were so excited. Amy acted like she was back in middle school!!!! You're going to love this Japanese beef curry recipe with potatoes, carrots and peas. Trust me, the sauce is delicious, and no one will be able to resist.

Japanese Beef Curry

wanted to share a little kitchen tip with you. Whenever I'm cooking, I like to get all the ingredients out before starting. It really helps to reduce stress and make the whole experience more enjoyable. Plus, if you're missing something for theJapanese beef curry, you can always find a substitute without the added pressure of time.

Prepare all Ingredents

To make the Japanese Beef Curry, here's what you need to do. Cut the meat into bite-sized chunks, peel and chop the carrots and potatoes into bite-sized pieces, and peel and chop the onions. That's it! Once you're done with the prep work, it's time to start cooking.

Use Beef or Chicken

Add the beef to a large saute pan. We try to cut oils and fats as much as possible in all of our recipes, so we don't add any oil when cooking the meat. I don't believe it is necessary. Yes, the meat will stick some to the pan, but as soon as you add water, the meat will scrap up from the pan.

When the beef is almost done (about 3 to 5 minutes), add the potatoes, carrots, and onions.

Add the Veggies

Cook the veggies with the meat.  Heat them over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the meat is cooked and the vegetables are starting to get soft. This should take approximately 5 minutes. You can check if the potatoes and carrots are cooked by piercing them with a fork. Once it is easier to pierce them with a fork, it’s time to add the water.

Bring the water to a boil and turn it down to a simmer. At this point, we added frozen peas or frozen green beans. Cover and simmer until the veggies are nice and tender. This should take about 15 minutes.

Now it's time to add the S&B Golden Curry. We added the extra hot curry, but the mild is just as good without the extra spice kick!

Stir until the curry has completely dissolved into the mixture. Stirring constantly, continue to simmer for 5 minutes or until the curry sauce is nice and thick.

Serve the Japanese beef curry with crusty bread or nice sticky rice.

Enjoy!!!!!!
