Yes, Five Cheese Pizza, and I'm still on a diet. Pizza is ok to have on a diet. Just plan for it and then there is no guilt. A key tip for this recipe and really when cooking everything MEASURE out all the ingredients. Don't be like those guys on TV that pour olive oil over everything. That does make the food taste good for the first few bites. But it adds a lot of empty calories. I would rather have an extra piece of pizza than add the oil.
Measuring everything really balances out the flavors. We have found using spice and fresh herbs adds no calories but adds a ton of flavor!!!! This is one of the major focuses for our weight loss. With this five-cheese pizza, we used a mixture of cheeses that all have their own great flavor. Plus, we add fresh garlic to really pop the cheese flavors.
Why Pizza?
So many reasons to have a Cheese Pizza or any kind of pizza. I know I could eat pizza almost every day. But if I did I would need to have different kinds. With all this, I have to say I loved this five-cheese pizza.
I'm really about tossing food to the dogs. All four of them were set by me during every meal. I try to tell Amy it is because they love me more. HaHa Like that little kid that drops their food to the dogs I love to spoil these boys. But with this pizza, they didn't get any!! Well, that's not completely true. I gave them a little piece of crust. They looked at me like they were saying "We know that pizza was better than what you just tossed to us!"
Experimenting with flavors is so much fun for us. Coming up with new recipes puts both of us in our happy place. We love Chicken Cordon Bleu so why not make it a pizza? Our Chicken Cordon Bleu is my favorite pizza of all time. As good as this five-cheese pizza was I still would pass it up for the Chicken Cordon Bleu pizza.
Some of our favorite homemade pizzas: Artichoke Dip Pizza, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Mushroom four cheese, Shrimp scampi, Spicy Pesto chicken, BBQ Chicken, and Grilled chicken Caesar salad. Just Search for Pizza to get a complete list of all our homemade pizzas.
Game Day!
If you read our blog post or follow us on Instagram you know we love Football and Hockey. In fact, we are a little crazy when it comes to both sports. Several of our friends have convinced us to start watching College Ball (Go Bucks!!!). OMG, where has that been all my life? So now during football season, we are giving up Saturdays and Sundays. You better believe there is going to be a lot of pizza made over the next few months.
If you are like us and need some ideas for pizza below are some of our favorites. Along, with this five-cheese pizza!
