Ingredients for General Tso's Chicken Wings
Most of the ingredients are probably hanging out in your pantry already! Well, the chicken wings shouldn’t be in there! To keep things super simple, we used some store-bought General Tso sauce, but if you’re in the mood to get a little creative, we’ve included our recipe for a homemade version as well. Both taste amazing. We used the store-bought one to save about 15 to 20 minutes in prep time.
- Spices - Ginger Powder, Garlic Powder, Cayenne (if you're feeling spicy), Salt and Pepper
- Chicken Wings
- General Tso's Bottle Sauce or make homemade sauce (recipe below)
How to make the wings
We absolutely love making wings in the air fryer! They turn out so crispy and cook up super quickly, which is a win in our book. We always make sure our recipes are the way we intend, so we try each one multiple times before sharing it on our blog! So, we even had fun baking them in the oven, and guess what? They turned out just as delicious! So, no matter how you choose to cook them, the flavor will always be fantastic! BTW - we have made these wings so many times that I kind of feel guilty it took so long to get the recipe out for you guys to try.
Get ready for some delicious wings! You can leave them whole or cut them into smaller pieces—personally, I like to cut them up. It makes them easier to munch on, and somehow it feels like you're getting more wings that way! It’s a fun little trick for your brain that might help you not overdo it. Just a heads up, though: these wings are so tasty that you might end up enjoying a few more than you planned!!
To get those wings ready, simply snap them at the joint and then cut between the joints. It’s super easy and takes just a few minutes to prep a pound of wings.
Mix the spices together! I know it can be tempting to just sprinkle them on the wings, but mixing them ensures every bite is packed with flavor. It'll make sure those wings are evenly coated and delicious!
Give your chicken wings a nice spritz with cooking spray, then pop them in the air fryer or lay them out on a baking sheet.
Air Fry Method:
For the air fryer, give the basket a light spray with some cooking spray. Then, pop those wings in and cook them for about 15 minutes at 400 degrees. After that, just flip them over and let them cook for another 10 minutes or until they look perfectly done. Just a heads up—every air fryer can be a bit different, so you might have to cook the wings for a minute or two more or less.
For the Oven: Preheat the oven to to 400 degrees. Cook the wings for 20 minutes. Flip them and cook for an additional 20 minutes or until they are done.
When the wings are done, toss them in the General Tso sauce!!!!!!
Enjoy with a ranch or blue cheese dressing!
Enjoy!!!!!
RECIPE FOR GENERAL TSO SAUCE
