How to make Orange Beef Stir Fry
Sir frying is one of the easiest ways to cook and use fewer oils/fats. Anytime you are stir-frying always get all the ingredients out before starting to cook. To me, the hardest part of a stir fry is the preparation. Once it starts to cook, it goes FAST!!! Don't forget to start the rice or noodles!!!
For this recipe, slice the steak into bite-size strips and slice the carrots into thin strips.
After the slicing is complete put the steak in an orange marinade. The marinade is easy, it's just the zest and juice of an orange. Marinate the steak for at least 30 minutes no more than an hour.
Mix together the sauce - Oyster sauce, sherry, soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. The sherry can be substituted for rice vinegar.
Chop the green onions. Half of the green onions will be used when stir frying the steak. The other half will be for garnish.
Now to finish off the orange beef stir fry. Heat a pan with ½ Tablespoon peanut oil or vegetable oil. Add the garlic and ginger for about 30 seconds until it starts to cook. Then add the steak with the orange marinade and all to the pan. Cook for about a minute or so until the steak starts to brown and cook through. Toss in the carrots and stir fry for 2 to 3 minutes just until the meat is cooked all the way and the carrots start to soften.
Stir the sauce one more time to ensure the cornstarch did not settle to the bottom. Add the sauce and green onions to the pan with the steak. Cook until the sauce starts to boil and thicken. Once the sauce is thick turn off the heat.
Serve with Rice and Enjoy!!!!
