The quick tzatziki sauce is creamy and full of bright summer flavors. This is a versatile sauce that can be used as a dip for veggies, chicken strips/kabobs, bread, lamb kabobs, on a gyro, or as a fun condiment.
Most recipes call for shredded cucumbers to make Tzatziki sauce, but we prefer chopping them in a food processor or by hand for a faster and easier process. We also like the small chunks of cucumber in the sauce.
How do you make a Quick Tzatziki Sauce?
Chop the cucumber by hand or in a food processor, sprinkle some salt, let it stand for a few minutes, and then squeeze out the excess liquid with a clean kitchen or paper towel
Add the Greek yogurt (we use nonfat to save a few calories), lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, fresh dill, salt, and pepper to the chopped, towel-dried cucumbers. Gently stir together until mixed well. Taste!! Then add more salt and pepper if needed.
Enjoy!!!!
This tangy cool sauce is the perfect addition to pita bread or crackers, chips, and cut veggies. We love to serve it with grilled meats, especially in the summer! There's something about the refreshing sauce paired with that grill flavor that makes it irresistible! Of course, this quick tzatziki sauce can also be served alongside gyros for a fun "make your own" meal night. Set out some grilled lamb or chicken, cucumber strips, diced tomato, onion, feta cheese, and pita. Everyone can build their own gyro and add all the tzatziki sauce they like.
