French Fries - OPTIONS!!!!
When it comes to fries, the options for toppings are endless. I have noticed that people are just as particular about what they put on their fries as they are about what they put on their hot dogs. Personally, I am very particular about how my pulled pork is served, which is with vinegar. Here's the point I'm trying to make: I'm sure you'll cringe at least once on this list, which also includes some of my own opinions. So, without further ado, here are the usual toppings that come with fries
- Salt (of course)
- Salt and Pepper (A MUST!),
- Vinegar (YES!)
- Ketchup (sure, but not in the car)
- Mustard (trust me, its good)
- Mayonnaise (never understood that one!)
- Cheese/Cheese Bacon Combo (I don't know anyone who doesn't like this - unless you're a monster!)
- Sugar (I don't get it)
- Hot sauce (I get it)
- BBQ Sauce (not sure why, but it's probably good)
- Ranch dressing (Why not. . .I've eaten it with Popcorn)
- And MANY MANY more. If you use something else fun let us know!!!
Diet French Fries????
When we think of a tasty fried potato snack, we don't usually associate it with a "diet". However, we refuse to give up our favorite things while working towards a lifestyle change. It just doesn't work for us. Therefore, we had to find a way to enjoy our favorite treats without feeling guilty.
Making the Fries
Baking potatoes is a great alternative to frying them, and it eliminates the mess that frying can create. In our recipe for cheese fries, we used cracked black pepper and Parmesan cheese, two of our favorite ingredients. This time, we wanted to add some spice and reduce the calories from the cheese. If you're not a fan of spicy food, you can skip the peppers (they're optional), but they add a delicious flavor to this recipe.

Don't forget your favorite side sauce, dip, spice, etc!! Let us know what you decide to have! We served them with buffalo chicken strips for the game....It was like having REALLY good bar food, without the fat and calories, and in our living room!!
