Ingredients
6OuncesBroccoli stemsOr Broccoli Heads
½TablespoonOlive Oil
1teaspoon Grated fresh ginger
1TablespoonOyster Sauce
1TablespoonLight Soy Sauce
1teaspoonsugar
½teaspoonSesame Oil
½CupLiquid from blanching the broccoli
2teaspoonCornstarch (cornflour)
Instructions
Peel the broccoli stems
Cut broccoli stems into bite-size pieces
To prepare the broccoli stems, fill a saucepan with water and add half a teaspoon of salt. Bring the water to a boil, and then add the broccoli stems. Wait for the water to boil again, and cook the stems for 2 minutes or until they turn bright green. Once done, remember to reserve half a cup of the water used for boiling the broccoli stems.
Heat the ginger in a wok or large pan with olive oil for one minute.
Add the oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and ½ cup of the cooking liquid to the dish, and allow it to boil for a minute.
Mix 2 tablespoons of water with the cornstarch in a small bowl. Add the cornstarch mixture to the sauce and stir until it thickens. Finally, add the broccoli and mix well.

Notes
If using broccoli heads remove the stems from the water and then add the bite size pieces of broccoli head and boil for One (1) minute.
