Chili Cheese Grits and Shrimp

Chili cheese grits and shrimp will make your tastebuds happy campers. Every bite includes spicy shrimp, creamy cheesy grits, green chilies & roasted garlic

Ingredients

Grits

  • 1 ½ Cups Grits
  • 3 Cups 1 % MIlk The Grits package calls for 6 cups of water. I use ½ milk instead of water
  • 3 Cups Water
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Cook Shrimp

Chili Cheese Grits with Shrimp

  • 7 Ounces Green Chilies
  • 2 Cups Cheddar Cheese
  • ½ Cup Cream Cheese
  • 1 Tablespoon Roasted Garlic or 2 Cloves Fresh Garlic
  • 2 Eggs
  • ½ Teaspoon Salt

Instructions

Grits - Shrimp

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
    Cook Grits According to the Recipe. I use Milk instead of Water. It gives the grits a creamier flavor. It takes a little longer but it's worth the boost of flavor for the grits
    Peel the shells off of the Shrimp

  • Rinse Shrimp

  • Use your favorite Shrimp Spice. We used Cayenne Pepper and Garlic powder. But you could use 2 Tablespoons of Old Bay. Toss the Shrimp in your favorite spice

  • Heat Olive Oil. Add The Shrimp to saute until done. About 3 minutes. We cooked ours on a salt block. The shrimp is done when it turns pink.

  • Put Cooked Grits in Mixing Bowl

  • Shred the cheese. Add the cheese to the grits

  • Add Cream Cheese to the grits

  • Add the green chilies to the grits

  • Add Roasted garlic To the grits

  • Add eggs to the grits

  • Mix together the grits, cheese, cream cheese, green chilies, roasted garlic, and eggs

  • Add the shrimp to the grits

  • Gently mix the Shrimp into the grits

  • Place the grits mixture in a baking dish (8x8 dish)

  • Sprinkle paprika on top of the grits

  • Bake in a 350-degree oven for 60 minutes
