- 8 Ounces Pasta You can use a long or short pasta
- 2 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 Tablespoon Garlic
- 8 Ounces Shrimp
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 ½ Lemon - Zest and Juice
- ½ Ounce Parmesan cheese
- ½ Cup Reserved Pasta Water
- ¼ Cup Basil
- ½ Tablespoon Red pepper flakes Optional
Cook the Pasta. Bring a pot of water to boil. Once the water starts to boil add 2 Tablespoons of salt and the Pasta. Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the package. NOTE: Pasta should be Al Dente because it will cook a little more when added to the shrimp.
8 Ounces Pasta
Heat olive oil in a large pan. Add the cleaned shrimp and garlic to the pan. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of salt on the shrimp. Cook for 3 or 4 minutes until the shrimp is almost fully cooked. Add the lemon juice.
2 Tablespoon Olive Oil, 1 Tablespoon Garlic
When the pasta is done (according to the package instructions), Reserve ½ Cup of the pasta water. Add the pasta, pasta water, and the parmesan cheese to the pan with the shrimp. Cook until the sauce has thickened and coated the pasta.
Turn off the heat and add the chopped basil and lemon zest.
