- 1 pound Chicken Breast Cut into strips
- ¼ Cup Fresh Lime Juice
- ¼ Cup Tequila
- 2 Cloves Garlic Chopped
- ½ Cup Cilantro Coarsely Chopped
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 2 or 3 Serranos Chopped. Serranos are optional; only add it if you want it spicy!
Mix together the marinade. Combine the lime juice, tequila, garlic, cilantro, salt, and serranos.
Place chicken strips in a bowl or zip-lock bag. Pour marinade over chicken strips. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 30 to 45 minutes. Do not marinate longer than one hour!
To cook chicken via grilling, start by placing the chicken strips on a hot grill and searing all sides over high heat. Once done, move the chicken to indirect heat and cook it thoroughly. You can use a meat thermometer to ensure that the internal temperature of the chicken is over 165 degrees. Alternatively, you can place the chicken strips on a baking sheet and bake them in an oven preheated to 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes until fully cooked with an internal temperature over 165 degrees.
Serve with Pic De Gallo and your favorite toppings.
