Hummus is such a great appetizer. We usually like to make it spicy. Lately, we've been trying different flavor combos and they've all been wonderful. Now, I can't decide which one is my favorite! 😀 I know most people say they would never decide on their "favorite" child. ... But I can't say that, don't tell Amy and Josh, they both think they're my favorite...... I really like the dogs the best. Haha!!!! 😆
The base is almost the same for all recipes. Only a few different ingredients adds so many possibilities for a very delicious appetizer.

A Few Things We Use
Ingredients
- 2 Cans Chick Peas
- ¼ Cup Tahini
- 2 Cloves Garlic
- 1 Lemon Juice of one lemon
- ½ Zest of Lemon Zest of half a lemon
- ¼ Cup Olive Oil
- 2 teaspoon Cumin
- ¼ Cup Water
- 1 Habanero Optional
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a food processor
- Mix until all ingredients are chopped finely and the hummus is creamy. Serve with Carrots, naan, or crackers
- Enjoy!!!!

- 8 Ounces Frozen Spinach
- 6 Ounces Canned Artichoke Hearts
- 1 Can Chick Peas
- ½ Cup Tahini

- ¼ Cup Olive Oil
- 2 teaspoon Cumin
- ½ teaspoon Salt

Sweet Potato Hummus
A Few Things We Use
Ingredients
- 1 Large Sweet Potato 12 Ounce potato
- 1 Can Chick Peas
- ¼ Cup Tahini
- 2 Cloves Garlic
- 1 Lemon Juice of one lemon
- ½ Zest of Lemon Zest of half a lemon
- ¼ Cup Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon Cumin
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon Cayenne Pepper Optional only if you want some spice
- 3 Tablespoons Water
Instructions
- Peel Sweet Potato and cut into ½ in chunks. Place in a sauce pan and cover with water and add ½ teaspoon sea salt. Bring to a boil and cook until sweet potato is soft about 3 to 5 minutes.Add all ingredients into a food processor
- Mix until all ingredients are chopped finely and the hummus is creamy. Serve with Carrots, naan or crackers

Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Ingredients
- 1 Large Red Pepper
- 1 Can Chick Peas
- 3 Tablespoons Tahini
- 2 Cloves Garlic
- 1 Lemon Juice of one lemon
- 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- ½ teaspoon Paprika
- ½ teaspoon Cumin
- 2 Tablespoons Water
Instructions
- Roast Red Pepper or use a jar of roasted red peppers. Remove and discard the stem, core, and seeds
- Add all ingredients into a food processor
- Mix until all ingredients are chopped finely and the Red Pepper hummus is creamy. Serve with Carrots, naan or crackers

Roasted Garlic
I have to say, I love Roasted Garlic!!!! We use it in several of our recipes. If you haven't roasted garlic yet, I highly recommend making one. It takes no time. Just cut the top of the garlic off, drizzle on some olive oil, and bake for an hour. It adds a savory boost to almost any dish..... Unlike raw garlic, which has a sharp distinctive flavor, roasted garlic provides a rich, deep, sweeter flavor and a velvet-smooth texture. It's a great paring with hummus because of that softer, savory, smoother garlic flavor.

- 1 Can Chick Peas
- ¼ Cup Tahini
- 1 Lemon Juice of one lemon
- ½ Zest of Lemon Zest of half a lemon
- ¼ Cup Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon Cumin
- ¼ Cup Water
Instructions
- Roast 1 head of garlic. Squeeze out the roasted garlic and discard the garlic skin/paper. Click here for more on "How to Roast Garlic"
